Archon
First sorcerer, king, then god of the Ark
The first man to build a magical system. His method reproduces a spell through precise steps—speech, movement, and above all visualization. It remains the system used by every human today, on the Ark and in Cerberus.
An eccentric hermit of the Central Ark during the Golden Age, he eventually set his epic spell, the Partage, into motion. Thousands of innocents died. The mana of an entire people flowed to him, giving him a god's power and title. He ruled for seven centuries.
That power ended the Jax invasion. Archon liberated Zaran Mor, drove the invaders back to Salk, and created the planar seal that closed Janashia to outside creatures. He also created Regeneration, Total Destruction, and Soul Odyssey. He used the last to live a hidden second life under the name Polymarch.
Aldor killed him, disintegrating him so completely that not one molecule remained. The Partage and the planar seal fell with him. His resurrection appears impossible—and defines the central problem of the Free Era.
