The Ark as it was before Archon became a god: a Republic with a Senate, powerful families, and censors — Telus, Sylla, Crassus — whose names still sit on the islands and peninsulas they controlled.

This is the geography the War of the Ark was fought over three centuries later. The Great Barrier fell on the Crassus Peninsula; the aqueducts that carried the Partage to the Ark's priests were broken on the first day of the Sylla landing; Markus Telus fell on Telus.

A map of a country that no longer governs itself, kept because the names outlived the Republic.
