Partage
Archon's great water network harvests, purifies, and redistributes the Ark's mana
Partage is Archon's unique spell and the culmination of First Partage. It turns a country's waters into a vast circulatory system that harvests, purifies, stores, and redistributes mana across a civilization.
Harvest
Water from the Partage enters designated people, draws out blood and mana, then returns to a central place stained red. Aqueducts form the network's most reliable arteries, but it also uses connected wells, underground rivers, streams, and other waterways.
At the network's heart, the spell extracts mana, removes blood and impurities, and transmutes the harvest into divine mana. A consecrated body of water serves as reservoir, purifier, and distribution center. The Partage creates no mana: every gift granted to a worshipper was taken elsewhere.
A harvested person rises tired. The tiny wound closes on its own, but the loss causes minor damage and leaves a dull ache and a sense of emptiness. The vulnerable may feel an unnamed sadness for several days. A successful harvest removes all spell slots and caster level for 24 hours. Known spells, knowledge, and feats remain, but there is no power to fuel them.
Redistribution
Archon chooses who receives divine mana and how much. Aqueducts, wells, underground rivers, and streams carry it to the faithful. Rain can carry the gift too, but with less precision and greater loss.
Distance, evaporation, detours, broken channels, and untamed waterways waste much of the power. Those near the central basin receive far denser mana. Their divine caster level is limited only by what the system grants and what their mind can bear. For an Archon Cleric, the personal limit remains 7 × CHA.
Mana That Follows the Faithful
Divine mana no longer expires after a fixed duration. It remains dissolved in an almost imperceptible film of consecrated water winding beneath clothing and against the skin. While that water remains coherent, the gift remains stable.
Powerful abjuration, complete isolation, destruction of the accompanying water, or a major break in the network can disperse it. The worshipper loses that power until the Partage sends another portion. Destroying an aqueduct does not dispel the global spell, but it cuts or weakens every distribution that depended on that route.
Archon's Absence
When Archon is inactive, notably during Soul Odyssey, the Censors administer the Partage. They maintain ordinary harvests and existing distributions but severely restrict new grants, mass transformations, and diversions. Their first concern is the network and its central reserve, so they may refuse a request Archon would have accepted.
