First Partage
Archon's first divine loop joins a mana source to its recipient
First Partage creates a local loop between the caster and a creature serving as a mana source. Ritual water enters the source, emerges carrying blood and mana, passes through the caster, and repeats the circuit until transmutation is complete. Both the stolen mana and the caster's own mana become divine.
An unwilling source makes both a Will Check and Vigor Check against the spell DC. Either success rejects the water and cancels the spell. A willing source may forgo both checks.
On success, the source pays the usual cost of a complete harvest: it loses every spell slot and its caster level for 24 hours, and the passing water causes minor damage. Known spells and knowledge remain, but there is no power to fuel them. The caster gains a new divine caster level:
New divine CL = caster's CL + source's CL, up to 7 × caster's CHA.
The caster's own mana is also transmuted, so the resulting caster level is divine for the day. The spell teaches no new formula, but this mana can fuel known spells and powers granted by the transformation.
The caster immediately gains Investiture of the Partage for the entire day, using the new divine caster level. The transformation may enlarge or rejuvenate the body, replace a destroyed limb with consecrated water, and give physical form to the stolen power.
When the spell ends, the caster regains their former magical nature and caster level. A living source recovers its slots and caster level after its 24 hours, though weakness, cold, and wounds may last longer. Killing the source never extends the gift beyond one day.
This was the first spell Archon used to acquire divine power. It later enabled him to create Partage, its global and permanent successor. First Partage remains local; the recorded use across the world relied on exceptional metamagic.
