Transfer

Voluntarily moves power from one worshipper to another

Available Levels
3

Transfer creates a water loop between two willing creatures. A thin current enters the donor, gathers some mana, and flows into the recipient. The water purifies that power along the way into a form the recipient's mind can stabilize. An Archon Cleric may serve as donor, recipient, or merely the officiant establishing the loop.

The donor immediately spends one unused spell slot. The recipient recovers one spent spell slot of the same or lower level. The donated slot cannot exceed the slot used to cast Transfer. A level 5 slot can therefore restore a level 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1 slot; any difference is lost during purification.

A creature can benefit from Transfer only 1 × its CHA per day. This limit belongs to the recipient and cannot be bypassed by changing donor, officiating Cleric, or slot level. Only completed transfers count. Once the limit is reached, the water refuses the power before the donor loses a slot.

This allows a group of Clerics to concentrate reserves in its strongest member—the one with the best DC or caster level—without turning the community into an unlimited source of spells. A recipient with +5 Charisma can receive five total slots during the day, regardless of how many Clerics surround them.

The recipient cannot exceed their maximum reserve. If no compatible slot has been spent, the transfer fails before taking the donor's slot. Transmitted mana changes neither caster level, known spells, nor maximum slots.

Both creatures must remain in range throughout casting. A watertight Barrier, abjuration, or destruction of the current interrupts the loop without consuming the offered slot, though the slot used to cast the spell remains spent.

The rite is voluntary and grants no save. It cannot tear mana from an unwilling creature. Forced formulas such as I Take for My Master belong to a more violent branch of the Partage.
