Sylla
The peninsula nearest the Central Ark, and the censor who erased it
The first republic, founded at M450 on the peninsula closest to the Central Ark — the nearest thing the old world had to a capital before there was a god. It later carried the name of its censor, Lucius Cornelius Sylla, surnamed the Lord of War.
The invasion began here. On the first day of the Sylla landing, Valerium artillery broke the great aqueducts and the Partage stopped reaching the Ark's priests and paladins. Daviau Morin held an invisibility spell over Portin's whole fleet while the guns worked.
Sylla answered with Divine Judgment. Daviau convinced Merenin to shelter the local humans inside the dwarven mountain first, then noticed that a censor who spends that much power needs time to recover — which is how Valin and the others reached his hidden island wearing the faces of dead Ark soldiers.
He walked out of Daviau's Ice World, lifted him, and broke his back against a wall. Valin, Merenin and Portin brought him down with Daviau's help, and his peninsula was erased by his own spell.
