Time Sphere
Gérard Alois's unfinished spell creates a long-lived temporal enclave
Time Sphere creates a bubble of accelerated time, similar to a greater Time Stop. Creatures and objects inside interact normally with one another but cannot affect or be affected by anything beyond its temporal boundary.
Leaving requires a Will Save or a sufficiently powerful dispel. Because the formula remains unfinished, dispelling it may have unintended consequences. After the first failed Will Save, each further attempt made once per round suffers an additional 25% penalty. Dispel attempts suffer the same escalating penalty.
The sphere lasts up to 1 day/CL, allowing long periods of uninterrupted thought and work. Spell recovery does not accelerate inside it.
An object or creature removed from the sphere immediately returns to normal time and appears frozen to those still within.
Gérard Alois called it his “Sphere of Solitude.” He found himself unable to produce useful or creative work inside it, but believed younger mages could still benefit. During the war for the Ark, he left one sphere and a collection of family grimoires in the Underdark for four younger mages. Twenty days inside produced Battlefield, Coherent Story, and Charlie Stoneheart's mastery of Shroud.
