Brisé
Glendariss, the Broken White Dragon
Brisé is the name Cerberus gave to Glendariss, a Huge White Dragon from Mount Rouge in Brazzant. His parents fled the country after an unknown event and abandoned him. An old hermit raised him, but when the man died, Glendariss was left alone in the mountain. He was born disabled and could not move through the world as other dragons did.
His unique power is a form of frozen necromancy. Brisé freezes living creatures into corpses of solid ice, then animates those bodies through Psychic magic. These Icebound Dead are not dominated minds: the victims are dead, and the dragon drives what remains. He used frozen barbarians to hunt for him and carry treasure back to his lair. Much of his hoard came from his parents or from dwarven soldiers and adventurers killed near the mountain.
Brisé first let Perennus Albion's students leave his lair with part of the hoard, then ambushed them during the night to reclaim it. He killed Gyllyn and petrified Aldor, but the other apprentices brought him close enough to defeat that neither side could finish the fight safely. Charlie Stoneheart sealed their agreement with an abjuration contract of exceptional strength: Aldor's life in exchange for Brisé's. Gyllyn returned through a rare red snow flower found by Vidock.
The apprentices offered Brisé a new life on Cerberus. They chartered a dwarven ship large enough to carry him and brought him to Vlad, where the arrival of a white dragon made them heroes. Perennus then sold Brisé to House Varanov for approximately two and a half million gold pieces while reminding his students not to think about money.
Cerberan transmutation gave Brisé a human form and functional legs. Vidock's work is credited with the first potion, while later accounts attribute the lasting accommodation to the Stonehearts. In human shape, Brisé could speak, read, and take part in a society he had known only through his hermit. He joined House Varanov, received expensive draconic armor from House Alois, and entered the Tournament of Discovery to establish his place in Cerberus. Frolix defeated him without harming him.
Years later, Brisé fought beside Gérard Alois and the Varanovs on Telus. Their alliance brought down the censor Markus Telus. The surviving accounts disagree on which Varanov was present, but they consistently place the white dragon in the battle.
