Resurrection

Give a dead creature a new body, built from what the place remembers of the last one

Available Levels
10

Resurrection reads what a place remembers of a dead creature and builds its body again. It does not retrieve a soul.

A creature leaves its strongest trace where it dies. Cast the spell there to give it a new body in the state of its last living moment, with no check or roll.

Away from the Place of Death

Elsewhere, the spell must use the weaker trace left when the creature last passed through that place.

Days before death the place last held the creature Chance of success
1 50%
2 40%
3 30%
4 20%
5 or more 10%

Only one attempt per creature is possible. Failure destroys the diamond and prevents another attempt.

The spell consumes a resurrection diamond. No one knows how to make more.

Armure, the armour of Manatar, is the only source of Resurrection. Whoever holds it carries the world's only known exception to death.

Wipe counters the spell by erasing or rewriting the trace it needs. Dispel Magic can restore a trace wiped at level 7 or 9; a level 10 wipe destroys it forever.
