Enchant

Enchant a weapon, armor or shield

Available Levels
1357910

Enchant temporarily fills weapons, armor, or shields with raw magic. The standard formula grants only the fundamental enchantment bonus; it does not add an elemental property or custom power.

Spell level Fundamental bonus Objects affected
1 +4 1
3 +8 2
5 +16 3
7 +32 4
9 +64 5
10 +128 6
  • A weapon adds the bonus to its damage. It gains no Reflex bonus.
  • Armor adds the bonus to its magical DR.
  • A shield gains neither DR nor Reflex, but counts as a magical shield of the spell's level when determining what it can block.

An object can benefit from only one Enchant spell at a time; a new casting replaces the previous one.

Psychic Maintenance

A Psychic casting Enchant with blue mana can keep an enchantment permanent while it is maintained. The Psychic reserves one spell slot of the same level as the enchantment. That slot lowers the maximum number of usable slots at that level: it cannot be spent or recovered until the Psychic releases the object.

Each maintained object reserves its own slot. Distance does not matter, but the effect ends if the Psychic dies, chooses to release it, or the enchantment is permanently destroyed. Custom powers still require a long ritual and GM adjudication under the enchantment rules. Stable blue mana holds the effect through the reserved slot; gold cannot replace that slot or preserve the enchantment after the Psychic dies.

This limit makes Psychic enchanters selective. Every accepted commission occupies part of their personal reserve for as long as the object exists.

Gold-Bound Permanent Enchantment

An Arcane or Divine enchanter can make magic independent of its creator under the enchantment rules. This option is unavailable to Psychic enchantments: gold has no effect on blue mana. Any known spell can be embedded, with the GM defining whether it is passive, activated, charged, or triggered by an attack. This form of permanence requires gold, a long ritual, and a prescribed chance roll; no universal table fixes its cost.
