Chapter 18 · The World of Cerberus
Long Life and Death Circumvented
Archon created Regenerescence. It purges disease, regrows limbs and organs, and lets its caster choose a biological age to return to indefinitely. Archon once gave it to wizards he held in high esteem. Cosimo Leblanc and Gérard Alois know its secret.
Other paths are more twisted. A person can live an entire second life in another body and merge both sets of memories upon waking. Memories can lie dormant in descendants' blood until a condition awakens them. A soul can be fragmented and housed in an object. One can return as a lich, regenerate faster than wounds can be inflicted like Vlad Varanov—and still die from a shot to the head—or wear divine armor that lives in an adjacent dimension and suspends aging.
Two mages bound by Death Pact die and suffer together. Cast as an epic spell, it no longer requires their consent.
