Ivana Varanov
Born vampire, princess of Vlad, and Aldor's wife
Daughter of Alfred and Catherine Varanov, granddaughter of Vlad, and elder twin of Igor. Ivana was born fully vampire. Unlike her grandfather, she carries a bloodline rather than a curse, but that places no limit on her power.
She entered the Academy because she was bored and wanted a social life. She had little patience for spellcasting and cared only for Darkness; her strength, speed, and regeneration already surpassed ordinary magic. She came to trust Gyllyn after he repeatedly helped her against the giants, then left the Academy.
Qormuza later disintegrated half her body. Dying beside Aldor, she drank his blood and survived with far greater power than before. She fought in the landing on Telus and in the Nightmare War. On the ramparts of Vlad, she pushed Aldor away from Lucius Stoneheart's Sphere of Destruction and was erased in his place.
Ivana returned, though no account explains how. In the Free Era she is Aldor's wife and the mother of Aldor II and Anastasia.
