The island of the censor called the Lord of Sciences
Founded as Tyrena in M470, this central island joined the Republic as its second outer territory and sent senators to Aventia. In M1301 Archon placed it under Markus Telus, surnamed the Lord of Sciences. Centuries under the same immortal censor replaced the old name with his.
Telus made the first vampire without meaning to. Markus's son Commode courted and murdered Vlad Varanov's daughter, and Markus let Vlad go to the scaffold rather than name his son; Vlad cursed himself instead of repenting. The house that governs the sciences of the Ark made its worst enemy that week, and, the same night, the Minotaur that would live under its own island.
To the people of Telus the Minotaur was a legend and the sworn enemy of the censor's house, until Aldor's class killed it. Asked what reward they wanted, they asked for Florentus Telus's land bill.
The island was one of three fronts in the War of the Ark. Gérard Alois and Alfred Varanov both died there against the censor; Ivana killed him. Florentus Telus was still a senator twenty years after the fall.
