Einar

King of Brazzant and legendary barbarian

Einar is the king of Brazzant and the legendary barbarian of clan Plume. The fighting techniques that bear his name come from a land where strength is built into the body: the meat of its beasts swells muscle and hardens bone, while its roots pass the same endurance to anyone who survives eating them.

Clan stories say that Einar tamed a White Wolf of the Highlands in his youth. Killing one alone is remembered for a generation. Taming one made the chief's son a legend before he became anything else.

His true transformation happened beneath a lake at a mountain summit. A flooded cavern there is carved with crimson runes. Red mist rose from its floor, lifted Einar and two companions, and opened their bodies without harming them. It removed Sobiesansky's worms from the other men and withdrew. When it entered Einar, it stayed inside both the man and his hammer. That is where Einar stopped being a chief's son.

No surviving account explains what the mist was. It is the source of Einar's exceptional power, but not the source of his crown. Brazzant is still ruled through warbands and clan chiefs who hold, hunt, farm, and fight for their own territories. Einar became the king above them without making those clans disappear.

In the Free Era, Einar holds one of the four thrones allied since the fall of Archon. Brazzant supplied warriors and food during the war and remains part of the alliance with the Ark, Cerberus, Askenon, and Frolix.

He once recommended a young member of clan Plume for an impossible mission on the strength of an achievement granted only once in a generation: going an entire month without eating chicken.
