Restitution

Restore a prepared scene one round after it is recorded

Available Levels
9

Restitution records everything within a radius around a point in Close range. The radius begins at 10 ft and increases by 5 ft for every complete 10 caster levels: 15 ft at CL 10, 20 ft at CL 20 and 25 ft at CL 30. Exactly one round later, the spell restores that scene automatically. It does not wait for an order and cannot be given a trigger condition.

Creatures, objects, terrain and active magical effects return to the state and position they had when the spell was cast. Severed limbs, scattered fragments and anything that left the area during the round are drawn back before the scene closes. A creature alive in the recorded state returns alive even if it died during that round. The restoration occurs even if the caster is unconscious or dead.

Each unwilling creature makes a Will Save when the scene is recorded. On a success, it and everything it wears or carries are excluded from the restoration. An intelligent object may resist with its own Will Save. One successful Save excludes only that subject; it does not cancel the rest of the spell.

Matter and creatures that entered after the recording are not restored. Loose foreign matter is pushed to the nearest open space when the original scene returns. A foreign creature may resist that movement with a Will Save; on a success, it remains where it is and the restored scene forms around it wherever possible.

Restitution restores one coherent scene and creates no duplicates. It also never recreates red mana or a spell slot spent during the recorded round. The spell slot used to cast Restitution therefore remains spent after the restoration.

The restored mind returns with the body. Every restored creature loses the memories it acquired after the scene was recorded. The caster may remember preparing Restitution, but not the death or disaster that followed.

Until the round ends, Dispel Magic can destroy the waiting restoration normally.
