Create Undead King

Create Undead King transforms one body into a lich. The necromancer gains no control over the result.

The spell draws the vital organs out of the body and seals them inside the spell's stabilizer—1,000,000 gp of gold around a large onyx—which fuses into a vessel of solid gold. Gold stores human mana: inside the vessel, the organs stay alive and go on producing red mana for the lich, wherever the vessel is hidden.

A corpse receives no Save. A living target resists with a Fortitude Save; on success, the spell fails but deals 20 HP per caster level. On failure, the transformation completes.

The lich is an undead that keeps its mind, with mental statistics fixed as under Undead Resurrection. It uses the lich entry for its body and keeps its caster level, slots, and learned spells.
