The Inquisitor Talus

One of the twelve inquisitors of Censor Sylla

Sylla's police. He puts down a rioting population so easily that raising one against the censor is not worth attempting, and he questions the survivors house by house afterward.

He fights with divine water that pours from blue gloves and shapes itself into elementals and barriers, and a supernatural gift for reaction lets him raise one before a spell lands. He wears light enchanted leather under a coat, invisible on command, and a solid gold mask for impressing peasants and prisoners—its inside is coated in a contact poison that kills anyone unworthy who touches it. He carried a gold coin bearing Archon's face, given to him by the censor and touched by the god himself, and played with it constantly.

He enjoyed his work. Told to feed a knight's mercenaries to a cyclops, he called it an amusing little game.

He was taken alive on Zurion, dominated through a Beholder's eye, and made to attack Polymarch with everything he had. Before he was killed he gave up the mechanics of the Partage, the state of the censors' politics, and the Ark's own account of Antoine de Cerberus and Vlad Varanov.
