Night Bolt
A silent bolt of Psychic darkness
Night Bolt compresses Psychic power into a thin black projectile and drives it into one creature. It produces no light and almost no sound. Under Drow Darkvision, its edge appears deep blue for the instant before impact.
The bolt deals direct Psychic damage and allows no Save. It can be dodged, intercepted by a Barrier, or reduced by appropriate DR and Psychic resistance. It passes through ordinary and magical Darkness without illuminating the area or revealing a visible trail. A creature unable to perceive the caster or the attack uses the normal rules for an unseen attack.
After the impact, a fixed sphere of magical darkness fills the target's space for 1 round. The darkness does not follow the target. Drow Darkvision and infrared vision see normally inside. A creature that cannot see through it must remain blind within the sphere or move out, allowing movement and opportunity attacks to shape a Drow ambush.
