Night Bolt
A silent bolt of Psychic darkness
Night Bolt compresses Psychic power into a thin black projectile and drives it into one creature. It produces no light and almost no sound. Under Drow Darkvision, its edge appears deep blue for the instant before impact.
The bolt deals direct Psychic damage. Unlike most damage spells, it can be dodged. It passes through Darkness without illuminating the area or revealing a visible trail. A creature unable to perceive the caster or the attack uses the normal rules for an unseen attack.
After the impact, a fixed sphere of darkness fills the target's space for 1 round. The darkness does not follow the target. Darkvision and infrared vision work normally inside. A creature that cannot see within it must remain blind or move out, allowing movement and opportunity attacks to shape a Drow ambush.
