Levitate
Lift yourself, a creature, or an object without giving it true flight
Levitate lifts creatures and objects vertically without granting true flight. It creates no horizontal movement, though a target may pull itself along a wall or rope, and another force may push or carry it sideways.
A willing creature controls its own ascent and descent. The caster controls unattended objects and creatures that fail their Will Save. During each tick, the controller may move each target up or down by as much as the spell's Vertical Speed. Directing the spell requires no concentration.
An unwilling creature makes a Will Save when the spell is cast. On a failure, it repeats the Save at the beginning of each later round. A successful Save ends Levitate for that creature.
When Levitate ends, an unsupported target falls normally.
Early Access
Alchemy and Psychic casters may learn and cast the Level 2 version of Levitate with a Level 1 spell slot. It otherwise uses the Level 2 row without modification. Arcane and Divine casters first gain access at Level 2.
