Crystal Wind
A painful death awaits you — Marcin Sobiesansky
Crystal Wind shatters a vial of liquid crystal at one point within Close range. The released storm fills a radius of 1 meter per caster level, entering living creatures and exposed objects and transforming their inner structure into crystal. This is a single explosion: leaving the area afterward does not stop a transformation already underway.
Every living creature in the explosion makes a Fortitude Save. On a success, it is unaffected. On a failure, crystallization begins immediately:
- After 3 rounds, the creature becomes completely unable to act.
- After 6 rounds, its transformation is complete and it dies.
The Alchemist is not immune to the explosion. If caught within it, they make the same Fortitude Save with Advantage.
Unattended ordinary objects crystallize immediately. Equipment worn or carried by a creature crystallizes with its bearer only if that creature fails its Save. The GM determines the consequences for structures and unusually large or enchanted objects.
Dispel Magic can end an incomplete transformation. Regenerate can also stop it by winning a DC check against Crystal Wind. In either case, the affected creature and its equipment return to normal. Once the sixth round has passed, ending the magic does not return the creature to life.
