A spectral hand materializes, siphoning life force and disrupting the delicate balance between body and soul

The caster summons an ethereal, skeletal hand that reaches out to drain the vital essence of living creatures. Upon a successful melee touch attack, the spectral appendage inflicts necrotic damage and temporarily saps the target's strength, transferring the stolen vitality to the necromancer.

If Chill touch attacks an undead, the undead is healed by the amount of necrotic damage but needs to protect against the disruption of his negative energies using a Will Save. If the save fails, then the undead is stunned and helpless for 1d2 rounds.

Should the necromancer, wielding Chill Touch, reduce a creature's Strength score to 0, the victim succumbs to unconsciousness.

Chill Touch can be countered through the following methods:

  1. As a touch-based spell, avoiding physical contact is paramount.
  2. Healing magic can diminish the duration of the strength drain:
    • Spells of equal or higher level reduce the effect by 50%
    • Lower-level healing spells lessen the duration by 25%
