Suspend Spell

For patient and calculating mages

When a character finishes casting a spell, they may suspend it instead of releasing it. The spell remains ready for up to 1 round per point of INT. Its slot is spent when it is cast, but its target and other choices are made only when it is released. Range is measured from the character at that time, and the spell's duration begins then.

The character can act normally while holding the spell, but can suspend only one spell at a time. Releasing it takes a Swift action (1 tick) and uses the spell's normal Reflex roll, range, defenses, and Saves. If the character does not release it before the suspension expires, the spell is lost.

A suspended spell is active magic. It can be detected and destroyed with Dispel Magic.
