Older brother of Charlie. The family's prodigy, he left magic school to work as a cook in Perennus Albion's restaurant. His choice has never stopped weighing on his brother and sister.
The kitchen is where he met Gyllyn, sent to wait tables there for months as Perennus's idea of tournament training. A baker's son and a great house's runaway heir became friends over service, years before either was a king.
His barriers exist, he says, to protect honest people from criminals. For a long time, he mastered only one offensive spell. It was enough.
Perennus told Jean that Lucius killed their grandfather and their mother then killed herself. Jean passed the story to Charlie without believing it.
A relentless prankster, he creates spells that are complex to cast and perfectly useless for his own amusement.
