Whispering Wind

Whispering Wind allows the caster to send a spoken message—and eventually objects or sensory impressions—through a magical breeze that lingers until commanded to depart. The wind carries secrets across distances, adapting to the caster’s needs as the spell’s power grows.

Scaling:

Level 1 Whispering Wind

• Message length: 1 round per caster level. The wind lingers around the recipient until the end of the message, or when dismissed.
• Range: Up to 1 mile.
• Effects:
  • The wind travels at 60 feet per round once sent.
  • The message is heard by all creatures in a 10-foot-radius sphere at the destination and can carry a scent used by the sorcerer at cast time.

Level 3 Whispering Wind

• Message Length: 1 minute per caster level. The wind lingers around the recipient until the end of the message, or when dismissed.
• Range: Up to 10 miles.
• Enhanced Effects:
  • Return Message: Upon delivery, the wind lingers for a short verbal reply from the recipient(s). When the wind returns, the caster hears the reply and gains a brief sensory snapshot of the destination’s ambient sounds and smells.
  • Small Object Delivery: The wind can carry a Tiny object (up to 1 lb.), such as a letter, key, or token.
  • Targets specific creatures (up to the caster’s level). For instance, a CL10 Wizard can send ten messages (each accompanied by a tiny object).
