Verchoix
The worm only reveals your latent power. —Sobiesansky
Verchoix creates a living symbiote capable of revealing supernatural power in its host. The spell does not determine that power in advance and does not merely teach the host a spell.
Creation
The Alchemist spends 1 month growing and enchanting one deep-worm larva in a preparation made from concentrated Psychic essence and powdered sapphire. The finished Verchoix is not tailored to a particular person and may be implanted into any prospective host. All materials except the living worm are consumed.
Implantation
Implanting the Verchoix requires surgery and suitable medical facilities. The GM prescribes a chance of successful integration, considering the host's Constitution first, then their health, the facilities, the surgeon, and the quality of the preparation.
On a success, the worm integrates with the host. On a failure, the body rejects it and the host gains no power. The Verchoix must then be removed surgically within 1 day. If it remains inside the host beyond that limit, the host dies.
Awakening
After successful integration, the GM chooses one supernatural ability suited to the host's nature, talents, experiences, or latent magical affinity. The ability becomes a permanent part of the character and may develop naturally throughout their life. It is normally represented by a dedicated Verchoix feat, such as Verchoix (Divination).
The awakened ability grants only what its own feat describes. Verchoix provides no general increase to attributes, caster level, spell slots, or known spells.
