Transmission

Place an inheritance of perfect memories into your bloodline

Available Levels
9

Transmission copies up to one memory per caster level into the caster's bloodline. The original memories remain unchanged. Each copy preserves the caster's perceptions and understanding exactly, including their mistakes; it cannot reveal something the caster never noticed or transform a belief into truth.

A memory may be one personal event or one coherent body of knowledge or practiced technique, such as a language, spell formula, alchemical formula, crafting design, or fighting technique.

Choose one form when casting.

Living relative. One creature related to the caster by blood and within Close range receives the memories immediately. The caster chooses a secret word that opens them. When spoken, the memories unfold within the recipient's mind as an immersive illusion that can be searched and reviewed.

Bloodline inheritance. The caster places the memories into their own blood. Every blood descendant, including descendants not yet born, carries them in a dormant state. There is no generational limit. The caster chooses an activation condition based on the descendant's family branch, age, sex, generation, or another trait the blood can recognize. Once the condition is met, that descendant can access the memories.

Learning the Inheritance

Complex knowledge follows the learning rules of Transmit Knowledge. It provides complete instruction, not automatic mastery. A recipient who does not yet understand the material can return to it after gaining the necessary Intelligence, background, or training.

Perfect Inheritance

Memories carried by Transmission never fade through time or disuse and remain in pristine condition. Ordinary forgetting cannot erase them. Magic that alters memory may temporarily prevent a recipient from recalling that they possess the inheritance, but cannot remove it from their blood; meeting its condition or speaking its secret word again restores access.

This preservation is part of the bloodline itself, not an active spell effect. Once the casting is complete, Dispel Magic cannot suppress or remove it. The inheritance continues through every generation even if no descendant activates it for centuries.
