Hidden Spell

You weave an intricate magical lattice to conceal a spell within a willing creature or object. Choose a spell of 3rd level or lower that you can cast. That spell must have a casting time of 1 action, and it must target a single creature or an area. You expend a spell slot as if you were casting the hidden spell.

The hidden spell lies dormant until you activate it using a specific magic word as a bonus action. When activated, the hidden spell takes effect immediately as if you had cast it in that moment, using the original casting parameters.

The creature or object housing the hidden spell gains a shimmering aura visible only through detect magic or similar divination spells. A successful dispel magic targeting the aura ends this spell and the hidden spell within.

Limitations:

• You can maintain one hidden spell without paying the material cost.
• A given creature or object can only have one hidden spell at a time.
• You can maintain a number of hidden spells equal to half your Intelligence modifier (rounded down, minimum of 1).

At Higher Levels:

• 7th Level: The spell can be activated with a magic word or specific triggers programmed into the spell (e.g., an invisible creature is detected within 30 feet). You can maintain a number of hidden spells equal to your full Intelligence modifier.
• 10th Level: A given creature or object can have up to two hidden spells simultaneously.
