Kaz'Nakaram
The dwarven kingdom of the runes, and Merenin's throne
The kingdom of Askenon that Cerberan records name most often, and the one whose prince came to Vlad with a trade mission and left having helped kill a vampire.
Merenin holds the throne, first son of the king before him and of Askenar's bloodline. He took it in the settlement that followed the Mage War and still rules three centuries later; he committed a hundred thousand dwarves to the war against the Ark and received his god's hammer for it.
Its court has a shape the records preserve: Rochepin, a dwarf of Numbers, advises the king. Kalir, the kingdom's undefeated champion, trained Merenin. The Granitefist clan, monks of Kaz'Nakaram, became the first subjects of the Psychic implants that gave the dwarves their exception to a runic tradition with no spellcasting in it.
A Kaz'Nakaram accent is recognisable enough that a Cerberan student speaking with one is worth remarking on.
