Item
Rune of Poison
A mineral venom produced by the blade itself
The weapon sweats a mineral venom drawn from Askenon's deep stone. It cannot run out, wash away, or be applied; it is part of the metal.
Once per turn, the first creature wounded by the weapon makes a Fortitude save against a DC of 10 + 2 × the rune's level. On a failure, it is poisoned, losing 10% of its Strength and Dexterity. This loss stacks to −50% and lasts until a true rest or healing that treats poison.
A creature normally immune to poison remains immune here. Undead, constructs, and elementals ignore the rune.
Dwarves dislike this engraving and reserve it for hunts, great beasts, and things that rise from the depths. Poisoning an opponent who can speak is considered someone else's work.
