Portable Alchemical Laboratory
A field workshop packed into three chests
This laboratory includes a complete set of small glassware, a collapsible still, a press, a heating chamber, sealed containers, and a stabilized table. It fills three heavy chests and requires a cart or several porters. Setting it up takes one hour, as does packing it away carefully.
Once assembled in a dry, stable location, it supports nearly all the work of a permanent laboratory: long distillations, very rare ingredients, production of multiple doses, and initial trials of a new recipe. The GM considers it among the circumstances of crafting; by itself, it never makes success automatic.
A portable laboratory remains inferior to a proper alchemy room for operations requiring several days, heavy ventilation, a permanent magic circle, or large quantities of material. Replacing its consumables after an intensive expedition costs about 100 gp.
