Feat

Under Armor

Places the Barrier beneath armor

When casting a fitted Barrier on an armored creature, the spellcaster can form the magical layer beneath the armor instead of over it.

The Barrier then has only 50% of its normal HP. In exchange, damage strikes the armor first: its DR reduces the damage before the remainder reaches the Barrier's HP. If the Barrier falls to 0 HP, excess damage then reaches the target. The same armor never reduces one attack twice.

Under Armor is especially effective against many weak attacks because DR applies before each one. It is less effective against a massive attack capable of piercing both armor and Barrier in a single blow. Choose whether to use this feat when casting the spell.
