Feat
Summoner's Swap
Exchanges places with a summoned creature in one tick
The caster exchanges positions with one creature they currently maintain through Summon. The movement is instantaneous. The caster spends 1 tick; the summon spends no action. Both must have a valid space at the other end, and Dimensional Lock, Planar Lock, and equivalent effects can block the exchange.
| Highest Summon level | Maximum swap distance |
|---|---|
| 2 | Close—30 ft + 5 ft per CL |
| 4 | Medium—100 ft + 10 ft per CL |
| 6 | Long—400 ft + 40 ft per CL |
| 8 | Global—no practical limit on the same plane |
| 10 | Unlimited, including across planes |
Beginning at Summon Level 8, the summoned creature may initiate the exchange. The summon spends 1 tick and the caster spends no action; the caster must be conscious and willing. At Summon Level 10, the summon may also initiate the exchange while its master is unconscious, but only to remove the master from immediate danger.
Each summoned creature grants one free swap per day, refreshed by a true full rest. The use belongs to that creature: a Named Echo remembers whether its free swap was spent even if it is dismissed and summoned again.
After a creature's free swap has been spent, each additional exchange with it costs two spell slots of the highest Summon level the caster can cast. This cost is paid when the swap is declared. If the exchange is blocked, the slots are still spent.
