House Rossini

Potions, spectacle, and limitless ambition

House Rossini is a minor noble magical family trying to force its way among the great houses of Cerberus. It owns a large stone residence in the old Knights' Quarter, keeps servants, and can finance expensive enchantments, but its name still lacks the history and influence its patriarch believes it deserves.

The family's rising trade is built on potions. The Rossinis entered the healing-potion market through Aurelius Alidel, who sold their products in Brazzant. They remained a small competitor beside the Morin, Leblanc, and Alois families. When Lorenzo publicly threatened Aurelius and ended the agreement, House Rossini lost both its merchant and its principal barbarian buyer.

Lorenzo intends to repair that weakness through spectacle. He exchanged appearances with Ferdinand and entered the Academy under his son's name, planning to use the Joust as proof that Rossini blood could surpass the established families. The deception reflects the house as he built it: appearance is an instrument, family members are resources, and power excuses the method used to obtain it.

Emblem: a mask split in two. The left half is cracked ivory, smiling with an almost human grace. The right disappears into shadow beneath a cascade of long black hair.
